Where the World Came to Compete

Lake Placid is one of only three places to host the Winter Olympic Games twice. Ski jumps, the bobsled and luge track, the Olympic speed-skating oval and Whiteface Mountain remain open to visitors and athletes year-round.

Beyond the venues, the High Peaks Wilderness offers hiking, paddling, fishing, alpine and cross-country skiing across six million acres of protected Adirondack Park.
